South Staffordshire Local Medical Committee |
Welcome to the website of South Staffordshire Local Medical Committee (LMC). Local Medical Committees were established by statute to represent the views of general practitioners by the 1911 National Insurance Act It is an independent self-financing body which allows it to exercise medico-political and statutory functions. South Staffordshire Local Medical Committe covers 98 GP Practices, 344 GP's and a population of 610,644 patients. South Staffordshire covers Stone, Stafford, Seisdon, Rugeley, Cannock, Burton, Tutbury, Uttoxeter, Lichfield, Burntwood and Tamworth and the Committee is made up of GPs from each of these areas. The LMC also has two sub committees: - South West GP Sub Committee whose Chairman is Dr Judith Holbrook South East GP Sub Committee whose Chairman is Dr Adrian Parkes Main Committee meets 8 times a year and Sub Committee meet 6 times a year. |
